This five-star holiday villa, spanning 120m², offers luxury and comfort for up to 8 guests. It features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 outdoor shower, and 2 toilets. The villa also boasts a spacious garden, making it ideal for two families. Located in the heart of the nature reserve near Ouddorp's iconic lighthouse, the detached holiday home is aptly named 'The Lighthouse.' With a sauna, outdoor shower, and proximity to the North Sea beach, this property ensures an unforgettable stay.
Floor plan
The Lighthouse (120 m²) offers 3 bedrooms with a total of 8 comfortable box-spring beds (200 x 90 cm each). The master bedroom on the ground floor features a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower. Upstairs, one bedroom has two single beds that can be joined to form a double, offering stunning views of the dunes. The second upstairs bedroom includes four beds, one of which is a full-size wooden bunk bed, with a view of the lighthouse.
The first-floor bathroom includes a bathtub, toilet, and rain shower. The spacious living room features a large wooden dining table with 8 chairs, 2 sofas, and a hall toilet. An open kitchen connects seamlessly with the living area, while a utility room includes a washing machine and tumble dryer.
For families with young children, the villa provides a cot with bed linen and a high chair. Large shades and remote-controlled blinds protect the floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor dining area from the sun, ensuring comfort indoors and out.
Wellness retreat with a panoramic view over the dunes
The stairway to the elevated part of the garden leads to the wooden sauna barrel. The panoramic window of this Finnish sauna offers a magnificent view over the dune fields. Enjoy the pleasant heat, the sound of lounge music and the ambient lighting: this sauna is the ultimate relaxation after a fun day of vacation. After your sauna session (or after a day at the beach) you can rinse off under the heated outdoor shower.
The cottage is named after a 56-meter-tall lighthouse
The beach home is named after the nearby lighthouse in Ouddorp, called ‘Westhoofd’. This 56-meter-tall brick structure is a true landmark, visible from miles away. The holiday home offers a view on this striking lighthouse from the bedroom on the first floor. At night, the monumental lighthouse shines its light beams over the surrounding sandy dunes in a comforting rhythm. The lighthouse is still in operation, but not open to visitors.
Deluxe home cooking on vacation
The Lighthouse has a fully-equipped kitchen with top range kitchen appliances. The Quooker mixer tap provides you with instant boiling water to cook your pasta or to make a cup of tea. The open kitchen is equipped with a 4-zones induction hob, an oven & microwave, a dishwasher, extensive kitchen utensils and crockery. You can also make a tasty cup of espresso or cappuccino with the Nespresso machine and a milk frother. For outdoor chefs a large Weber charcoal grill is available.
Safety and hygiene
For your peace of mind, The Lighthouse vacation home is equipped with a laptop safe with a programmable user code. The front door opens by entering a 4-digit access code on the keypad, so no hassle with keys.
Pets are not allowed. For the comfort of other guests, The Lighthouse is a non-smoking accommodation. Smokers do have the opportunity to smoke outside at the covered terrace.
For your comfort and hygiene in the sauna, we recommend that you bring a beach towel, a bathrobe and a pair of slippers.
Sustainable beach vacation
Electricity is generated by solar panels. Ouddorp beach receives so many hours of sunshine per year that the south facing roof on the vacation home generates the entire power demand, even for the sauna. The comfortable underfloor heating is powered by an electric heat pump. To minimize plastic waste, the bathrooms are equipped with refillable shampoo and shower gel dispensers, instead of using disposable minis.
